In vaguely related news, designing a hangar so that a tug can pull a plane in and then maneuver out is fun.
Also, tugs are heavy, but then again, so are B-29s.

The best service is on airlines for countries in the Middle East... I think the best I ever had was in Saudi Arabian Airlines. The service was ridiculous even in coach.

I gotta say, the response to that whole “overbooking” incident has been fantastic the past couple of days. The memes, the tweets, all of it. UA’s got quite the hole to dig themselves out of.

I flew LOT Polish Airlines once, they spoke Polish so I couldn’t understand what was going on 90% of the time. But, it was a brand new 787, so it was nice and I’d do it again.

Emirates is pretty awesome.
There food is edible, even tasty at times. The booze and snacks flow freely too :)

Anyone who has never had occasion to fly a “premium” airline doesn’t know what they are missing. I’ve flown British Air in economy and Qantas in Premium Economy. British Air economy was really very nice, and Qantas Premium Economy is down right amazing. The food is good, the gate staff and flight crew were super friendly and helpful, and the free booze in Premium is fantastic.
I expect Emirates (and other upscale airlines) offers a similar level of comfort and customer service.
